Just heard about “Standing Requests” on Constant-Content.com

February 26th, 2010

I just found a new thread on the Constant-Content.com forum that a new kind of request, a standing request, is being introduced. According to CC’s Jeff Richards, “This is a place where we are going to put requests for content that we would like to market to our customers.”

From the sound of it, writers will be able to submit articles to the Standing Request category (on specific topics I assume) and CC will then market the availability of ready-to-go articles to other markets.

This should be interesting. . .

Growing Professionally

February 25th, 2010

Are you satisfied with the status quo? Not me. Sure, last year was a good year for me professionally, as was the year before that. And the one before that. While it would be nice to coast in 2010, I want this year to be even better. But it won’t happen without taking action.

Last year, one of my goals was to get this Web site in shape and blog regularly. I hired a designer and here I am blogging! This year, I plan on writing at least one more eBook and doing more to promote myself. So far, I’ve joined a professional writing association, placed an ad, started an affiliate program, created a second Web site, and enrolled in a training course. I have also outlined my new eBook and will begin writing soon.

The beginning of the year is an obvious time to set goals and take action. While it’s nearly March, don’t let that stop you if you haven’t already plotted your course for 2010. What goals have you set for yourself for 2010? What steps have you taken?

Article featured on USAToday.com

February 23rd, 2010

A while back, I wrote an article about the Readius eReader and eventually posted it on Associated Content due to its short shelf life. Each day it sat unsold on Constant-Content, it became older and less timely. Last week, I put it on AC so that I could at least get a small upfront payment and some page views. The article was then picked up by USAToday.com! Cool, huh?

Ideas, Ideas, Ideas. . .

February 17th, 2010

I have more ideas than I have time. Right now, I’m kicking around several ideas, all involved and time-consuming to implement. I think I’ll take a few days off, let the ideas simmer, and then pick ONE for now. Otherwise, I’ll have a bunch of partially started projects that I may never finish!
