Constant-Content Pricing: Top-sellers’ rates revealed

I recently looked at the prices that the top-selling writers on Constant-Content charge. I focused on the top five writers and their most recent 10 submissions. I calculated the average word count, price per article (per usage and full rights licenses), and per word price. Though my Constant-Content pricing survey uses a small sample, I found the results interesting. For example, the writer with the lowest per word price for full rights isn’t necessarily selling more than those charging the highest.

These Constant-Content prices are before the commission.

Constant-Content Pricing: USAGE Articles
Average word count: 527 (High 610 / Low 426)
Average article price: $21.02 (High $30.50 / Low $7)
Average per word rate: $0.04 (High $0.06 / Low $0.02)

Constant-Content Pricing: FULL RIGHTS Articles
Average word count: 551 (High 666 / Low 473)
Average article price: $42.80 (High $61 / Low $21.80)
Average per word rate: $0.08 (High $0.10 / Low $0.04)

If you’re a Constant-Content writer, take your last 10 submissions and see how your prices compare. The top sellers have obviously found success at the above price point, so if your prices are dramatically different, you may be under or overestimating the marketplace.
